SkyNexus and efbX compared
efbX is a new sim EFB by KatiePilot, presented at FSimUK in October 2026 and due in Q4 2026. SkyNexus is a free EFB that already runs in your browser. The two are built for different jobs, and you can use both. Everything on this page about efbX is as of October 2026 and comes from the efbX website and the coverage of its FSimUK presentation, linked below. efbX is not released yet, so details can change.
What efbX has announced
- A free base tier, and Premium at £3.88 a month excluding local taxes. Which features are in the free tier has not been confirmed. A one-time licence is planned, with no price announced yet.
- Worldwide, geo-referenced LIDO charts in its RouteManual app, from a partnership with Lufthansa Systems, for Premium users from day one. The charts follow the aircraft's position in the sim and have a day and night mode.
- Official support for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. X-Plane is planned after release, and Prepar3D may work but is not guaranteed.
- Runs on PC, tablets and phones on your local network, with two-way links to your aircraft and GSX: you can manage fuel and payload from a phone, and do your SimBrief planning inside efbX.
- An app store for operational tools, news and third-party apps.
- A release window of Q4 2026, with no exact date announced.
- efbx.io for features, pricing and supported simulators.
- FSElite: EFBx reveals new features and pricing during FSimUK (11 October 2026).
- Threshold: efbX announces LIDO charts integration and pricing (11 October 2026).
What SkyNexus does
SkyNexus is a web page. It does not connect to your simulator: it reads your SimBrief flight plan and live data, and turns them into a briefing. That means nothing to install, and it works next to any simulator you plan with SimBrief, including MSFS 2024, MSFS 2020, X-Plane and Prepar3D, on any device with a browser.
- Takeoff and landing performance for the A320, A320neo, A321, A321neo and 737-800, with indicative numbers for the 777-300ER and A380-800: V-speeds, FLEX, the best flap, landing distances and the runway exit you will make.
- Weather worked out per runway from the METAR and TAF, the ATIS, and an eWAS-style forecast of turbulence, icing and jet streams along your route.
- Live VATSIM and IVAO controllers, ATIS and sectors matched to the route you filed.
- Charts for your filed runways and procedures through ChartFox, which is free.
- Free, with a free account and your SimBrief Pilot ID.
- What SkyNexus builds from your OFP page by page.
- Takeoff and landing performance for every supported aircraft.

Where they differ
- Simulator link: efbX talks to your aircraft and GSX. SkyNexus does not connect to the sim, so it cannot load fuel or drive GSX, and it works the same with any simulator you plan with SimBrief.
- Charts: efbX Premium includes LIDO charts. SkyNexus picks out the charts for your flight from ChartFox, which is free; coverage depends on what ChartFox has for each airport.
- Performance: SkyNexus works out takeoff and landing numbers for the types above. efbX has not announced a performance calculator in the sources linked here.
- Networks: SkyNexus matches live VATSIM and IVAO controllers to your route. efbX shows VATSIM and VATSIM Radar among its partners but has not described a network feature in these sources.
- Install: efbX is an app for PC, tablet and phone. SkyNexus runs in a browser tab.
- Availability: SkyNexus is live today. efbX is due in Q4 2026.
Using both
Because SkyNexus is a browser tab and reads the same SimBrief plan, it sits next to any other EFB. If you use efbX for charts and aircraft control, SkyNexus can still give you the performance numbers, the weather per runway and the live ATC picture for the same flight.

efbX and SkyNexus FAQ

- Not as of October 2026. efbX says it will release in Q4 2026 and has not announced an exact date. You can register for early access on efbx.io.
- How much does efbX cost?
